My Name is Tracy Brown
I am 38 and a Development Worker with MCDT
"In 2003 a deveopment worker job came up with MCDT which I applied for and was successful in getting and I have been working for them evr since."
"The jobhas been a steep learning cure for be, but I love it! I've delivered a playscheme, manage a Youth Club and various other children's activities and support local groups."
I left school at 16 to work for Sheffield City Libraries where I worked for 10 years. I left to take a career break and bring up my second child. During that time I took advantage of the training opportunities of interest to me e.g. Community Development & Health, Youth Work and Counselling, with a view to changing my career altogether.
I voulunteered at Woodthorpe Youth Club with their girls group and relised that working with people in a supportive way was what I wanted. In 2002 I took part in Regen School, an organisation which trained people in regeneration. This gave me a good understanding of the key skills needed to do the job I'm in.
What makes my job so special is the commitment and selflessness of the volunteers I work with. My job wouldn't be possible without them. This is what MCDT is about, providing opportunities for people.
