Sure Start Dads Group, a roaming group around the Manor and Wybourn area, giving dads a chance to interact with their children and to learn things from each other
It was felt that there were some barriers preventing men from accessing the Sure Start services

A Dad's group was started 2 years ago by local fathers to enable them to have quality time with their

Following a consultation event at Hollywood Bowl Sheffield where local fathers were invited to discuss
the barriers that were perceived in preventing them from accessing the Early Years Services provided by Sure Start, a Dads Group was formed. It was decided that they would like to meet regularly on a Friday 10-12. As there were fathers in various locations they decided to have a roaming venue around the area.
They wanted to do lots of activities with their children so they put together a timetable of events on a term by term basis. These range from outdoor activities, cooking, singing workshops, and lots of arts and crafts. The group have been on trips to places like Eureka, Go Ape and Norfolk Park. The group has helped fathers build their confidence to go onto training courses and employment but above all the group has enabled them to spend quality time with their children and learn more about each other
