The year so far

Over the last 8 months we’ve been working hard on grounds maintenance trying to get communal area’s looking good. You may have noticed the work we have done around Manor Park, Beaumont Cres and Normancroft. There has been a vast improvement in the grass cutting, hedges and shrubs in these areas and we hope to achieve this standard and better across the whole of the areas we cover in the coming year. We’ve just started our winter programme work so will be concentrating on hedges and shrubs rather than grass cutting in the coming months

The team have taken part in 2 ‘weeks of action’ organised by Parkway Housing and Acis, working with other agencies to target certain area’s for maximum impact. During these 2 weeks we moved many tons of rubbish from fly tipping, litter picking and hedge/shrub cutting.

Our Neighbourhood Wardens have been active too. You may have seen them when they are patrolling or in attendance at Post Offices on pension days. Wardens love to get to know people so whether you are young or old, please feel free to chat with them if you see them especially if you have concerns about anything in the neighbourhood.

The Neighbourhood Wardens recently organised a clear up of the area around the Enable building on Harborough Avenue. The area was beginning to look a bit of an eyesore and needed some attention. Wardens liaised with Manor Castle Development Trust, Pennine Housing, Green Estates, Sheffield Homes, Yorkshire Met and Enable. They all spent a morning litter picking the area and removing smaller items of fly-tipped rubbish. Estate Officers from the YES team took away the sacks of litter and will be removing all the larger items of fly-tipped rubbish to leave the area looking clean and tidy and much more pleasant to look at.

We hope you like what we have done so far. If you are a tenant of Parkway Housing, Pennine 2000 or Acis and you would like to comment about the service we deliver please contact your landlords and they will pass on any comments you make. Our aim is high customer satisfaction and we will consider any suggestion you have to help us achieve this.
