MCDT Board Members
Frank Abel – Community Representative from Park Community Action, one of the local forums.
- Frank is a local resident and retired head teacher. Apart from his longstanding involvement in the Park area, particularly the development of the Park Centre, an old swimming pool complex now housing a library, Youth Centre and a variety of community facilities, Frank is also very active in the development of our Education Action Zone through his role as school governor.
Mike King – Local Authority Representative.
- Mike’s accountancy background and his particular involvement with the Corporation Development Agency places him at the centre of community enterprise development. Mike is also Chair of Wybourn and Skye Edge Action group and has a key role in linking council services to regeneration activity.
Larry Angel – Co –opted Community Representative Woodthorpe Development Trust.
- Woodthorpe joined the Trust in 2000 although a good deal of joint work had occurred previously. Larry has chaired Woodthorpe Development Trust for 5 years and in addition to his role on the Trust board he is also chair of the Sure Start Board.
Ken Curran – Community Representative.
- Ken is the Chair of the board. He has been involved in local and national politics but now devotes most of his time to the work of the Trust. Ken is an advocate of bottom up development linked to economics and social regeneration. He is also passionate about the role of the arts.
W.A. Stevenson – Private Sector Representative ( Bellway).
- Bill spends his time lobbying for and developing innovative housing solutions. He believes that the building industry should be recognised as a major force for regeneration and that our urban environment should be both interesting and of the highest quality.
Cllr. Pat Midgley – Local Authority Representative.
- Pat has lived in the area all her life and we were particularly proud when she served as Lord Mayor. Pat is also involved in everything significant that happens in her area. Current concerns and projects include the future of Parkhill flats (Britain’s largest listed building), Victoria Methodist’s Live at Home Scheme, Wybourn Young People’s Resource Centre and the future of housing of local people.
Karl Tupling – Local Authority Representative.
- Karl is the Director of Housing for Sheffield City Council.
Ruth Dowling – Private Sector Representative.
- Ruth is the CEO of Manor Development Company which provides incubator business units for local people.
Mark Bennett- Private Sector Representative.
- Mark is a local entrepreneur with extensive experience of property development and management.
Nick Plant- Private Sector Representative.
- Nick brought his considerable business experience to the Trust to support the development of Quadrant and has since joined the Green Estate Board and MCDT Board.
Anita Redfern – Community Representative, Manor Assembly.
- Anita also manages the Signpost Project which provides an alternative education for children and young people who have been excluded from school or who self exclude because they are being bullied.
