Born t Perform

“A great project that has brought people together in a unique way.”

Born T Perform evolved from the successful Manor & Castle X Factor Competition where young people from around the city auditioned for a chance to perform publicly.

32 were successful, ranging from actors, comedians, violinists, singers and dancers all of which made a great variety show.
The group have been so successful they have been asked to perform time and time again and now meet at the Youth Club at Park Centre

The group met weekly as well as additional extra rehearsals as required at the Victoria Methodist Church Hall. The venue is ideal as it has a stage, musical equipment and a kitchen and lounge area meaning that everyone could practice, receive voice, dance and drama training and also use it to socialise.

The original plan was to do the Variety Show at the Sheffield Library Theatre and a community
performance, however the group has been so successful they have been asked to perform time and
time again and now meet at the Youth Club at Park Centre.

As an ending to the project they all went to The Manchester Palace theatre to see Michael Jackson's, Thriller live stage show. It was a marked end to all the hard work they had put in over the months.
This has been a great project which has not only brought families together in a unique way but has
forged solid friendships between the young people who might never have met as they are from differing backgrounds and cultures.
